Pamela J.B. Stone, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Stone is a gynecologic oncologist at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. She offers comprehensive care to women in Colorado diagnosed with ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and other gynecologic cancers. She sees patients at our Boulder clinic and performs surgeries at Boulder Community Hospital, Longmont United Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital.

Dr. Stone has expertise in minimally invasive surgery techniques, and cares for patients in all stages of gynecologic cancers.

Interests

On a personal level, Dr. Stone is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, biking and camping. Close to home, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her elementary age children and family.

Education & Background

Dr. Stone is board certified in gynecologic oncology, and a member of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, fulfilled an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and completed her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Southern California. Her research has been published in Gynecologic Oncology, American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer.

When asked about her approach to caring for her patients, Dr. Stone replied, “My goal is to develop a relationship with my patient in order to have direct and open discussions regarding diagnosis, treatment options and patient goals. I believe my patient desires truthful communication and involvement in her care. I use my surgical skills, knowledge about chemotherapy and current medical evidence to advise my patient regarding her treatment choices and include her support network to develop a treatment strategy. I care for my patients along the entire spectrum involving her cancer diagnosis. I like to counsel and educate my patients regarding diagnosis and treatment options, and have research opportunities available. This partnership allows for the application of cutting edge technology and research to be individualized to each patient. Our relationship develops a care plan based on patient goals, medical evidence and current strategies in the setting of care, respect and hope.”
