Robert M. LaPorte, M.D.

Dr. LaPorte joined Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in February 2004. He specializes in breast and prostate cancer and works at RMCC’s Thornton location.

Dr. LaPorte is board certified in radiation oncology and served as the radiation oncology department head at San Juan Regional Cancer Center in New Mexico for 11 years.

“My father was a physician and my mother was a nurse. I felt my greatest contribution to my community would be practicing medicine. Once my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I knew what specialty I wanted to pursue.” Dr. LaPorte believes in providing his patients with as much information as possible; this requires listening to patients and trying to make decisions as a team. The most rewarding aspect of his work is helping cure patients and being an active participant/navigator in their decision-making process. When Dr. LaPorte is not at work, he tries to spend as much time with his three children as possible. He also enjoys cooking and staying healthy.
