Patient Care Philosophy
I believe each patient is a survivor from the moment they are diagnosed with cancer. Survivorship looks and feels different for each patient, and my goal as a practitioner is to provide anticipatory guidance, and preserve dignity and autonomy while taking into account the psychosocial impact of a cancer diagnosis. Our work isn’t done when treatment is complete; some of the hardest work happens when patients try to reconcile with who they were before therapy and who they are after treatment… It doesn’t have to be defined by cancer! To quote Stuart Scott, "You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live." I am truly humbled and honored to care for and guide patients as they navigate their diagnosis and how it impacts their life/relationships/beliefs.
