Born in Philadelphia, Dr. Zinn grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Zinn served as the principal investigator for the Rocky Mountain Cancer Information Service for 15 years and is currently co-principal investigator. He recently served as chief of the medical section for the Penrose-St. Francis Healthcare System and is a member of the hospital’s Cancer Committee. He serves as assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Zinn is on the board of directors of the Pikes Peak Council of Boy Scouts of America. He is listed among the Best Doctors of America 1996 through 1999.
Dr. Zinn resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Helen, and their two sons. He sings in the choir at St. Paul’s Church and also enjoys skiing, scuba diving and playing piano.
He received his BA degree from St. John’s College in Little Rock, Arkansas, an MA degree from the University of Chicago, and an M.D. degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine. After fulfilling a three-year internal medicine residency at Evanston Hospital–Northwestern University, Dr. Zinn completed a two-year medical oncology fellowship at the Mayo Graduate Medical School.
